I recently gave a nontraditional baby shower for my son and his girlfriend. Since the two of them are having a home birth with a midwife, and they are both into a completely natural, healthy lifestyle, I went with a green, eco-baby theme. Instead of traditional crepe paper and cardboard storks (not very environmentally friendly, y’all) I used some beautiful natural plants and simple votive candles for decorations.
When the afternoon light came through the mini blinds, or as my mom calls them, “Venetian blinds”, casting rows of shadows on these white petunias, I had to excuse myself from the festivities long enough to capture a great shot for Shadow Shot Sunday.
Shadow Shot Sunday is a cool idea for a meme that has folks posting photos of shadows, and then linking back to Hey Harriet’s blog so everyone can visit each others pictures. (And leave comments -it’s the blogger’s crack.)
