This is for Watery Wednesday. It’s a little blurry, because it’s a scanned photo of a painting. This painting, entitled simply, “Seascape,” is an original oil by my late grandmother, Gladys Parker. She taught herself how to paint when she was in her 50’s and went on to create many beautiful paintings, such as this one, for another 35 years. The sea was her favorite subject. She was not only a fabulous artist, but a poet as well. I have another website dedicated to her life story, her poems and her paintings at The Rock of Gibraltar. Go on over and check it out, if y’all want to be inspired.
She was my Rock and my inspiration, and not a day goes by that I don’t think about her, and wonder what she would say about things that happen in my life.
Watery Wednesday is hosted by 2sweetnsaxy at Eyes, Mind and Heart. It’s so easy, even cavemen and southern women can do it! Just post a photo, on Wednesday, y’all, of something with water in it. Then link back to Watery Wednesday so other folks can enjoy your photo! That’s all ya gotta do, I swaunee.
