Tiki Bar Shadows

Well, it’s Sunday. I haven’t posted any shadows since January. How sad is that?

I took this photo last month, when I was visiting a good friend in Maryland. We went to Solomons Island for the day. Solomons Island is a quiet waterfront fishing village located just 55 minutes south of the Washington beltway where the Patuxent River meets the Chesapeake Bay. This palm tree was behind the famous “Tiki Bar”, an open air bar with a “Key West feel”, whose annual reopening in mid-April has come to symbolize the unofficial beginning of the season to thousands of visitors who flock from near and far to celebrate the event.

Shadow Shot Sunday is a cool idea that has folks posting photos of shadows, and then linking back to Hey Harriet’s blog so everyone can visit each others pictures. Check out the other participators and post one yourself.
