He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the LORD, “He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.”
Katie Lloyd Photography has a Sunday photo challenge – Scripture & a Snapshot. This week’s photo challenge on WordPress is “Refuge.”
The only thing I could think of, when I think of a Refuge, is that our only real refuge is God. In times of trouble, everyone calls Him. Even non-believers will instinctively call out, “OH GOD.”
And I believe that He hears us, and He answers. Even when we, like children, do not even know what to ask for. Sometimes all we have to say is, “Help.” Actually, we’d all probably be better off if we just kept it simple, and just said “Help.”
I was looking through some photos that I took on a recent trip to the Blue Ridge mountains, thinking a majestic mountain vista would best illustrate the word “refuge” and the above photo captured me instead. This is the interior of an old mill.
If there’s one place you must stop along the Blue Ridge Parkway, and just one place in which you simply must take a picture, it’s Mabry Mill. Edwin Mabry built his iconic mill in 1910, and the National Park Service restored it in 1945, making it the parkway’s most photographed attraction
