Sidewalk Shadows

On a recent trip, I spotted this shadow on the sidewalk. Shadows are hard to find – you must have the camera ready when one of them shows up. I like the intricate details of the branches in this shot.

Tiki Bar Shadows

Well, it’s Sunday. I haven’t posted any shadows since January. How sad is that?

I took this photo last month, when I was visiting a good friend in Maryland. We went to Solomons Island for the day. Solomons Island is a quiet waterfront fishing village located just 55 minutes south of the Washington beltway where the Patuxent River meets the Chesapeake Bay. This palm tree was behind the famous “Tiki Bar”, an open air bar with a “Key West feel”, whose annual reopening in mid-April has come to symbolize the unofficial beginning of the season to thousands of visitors who flock from near and far to celebrate the event.

Shadow Shot Sunday – Side by Side

On our one day off in the middle of last week, we decided to get outside and enjoy the 65 degree weather. We loaded our rottweiler, Hannah, into our car and took off for Wrightsville Beach. I plan to dedicate another post to Hannah’s day at the beach, because, well, doesn’t everyone love to see pictures of overjoyed rottweilers? Plus, I only took around 500 photos.

When y’all see the photos from that day, you’ll understand why I had to take so many! With the late afternoon at our backs, I was able to get this picture of our shadows for Shadow Shot Sunday.

And, if you’d like to see a photo that I took shooting into the sun, head on over to my other blog, Wilmington Daily Photo.

Shadow Shot Sunday – My Grandson

Just thought y’all might like to see what has been keeping me from blogging lately. I’ll get back to normal after Christmas, I’m sure, but between training for a new job at work, shopping for Christmas stuff for my two grand-babies, and spending what little free time is left with this little angel…Ginger is kinda up to her eyeballs in busy!

Shadow Shot Sunday – My Backyard

I took this photo of my back yard the other day for Shadow Shot Sunday. Hannah is a photo hog. She has to try and get in every picture I take!

Taking pictures of shadows is harder than it looks, y’all. Of all the photo forums I participate in, I think this one is the most challenging!

Here is a closer picture of my coleus. I am quite in love with them this year.

Shadow Shot Sunday – Seagulls

Thanks to my friend, Jan, over at Jan’s Sushi Bar, I’ve decided to give this here posting every day thing a try, y’all. It’s called NaBloPoMo,and I can’t believe how long it just took me to write that. Stands for “National Blog Posting Month”. You post something every day for a month.

It’s ridiculously hard ….damn near impossible….a monumental task on the weekends..the biggest challenge of my life at this point.

These seagulls were flying around Johhny Mercer’s Pier in Wrightsville Beach the last time we were there. We were strolling on the pier after having hot dogs and trying no to scream because all Dani was doing the whole time was texting enjoying the beautiful summer day.

I am choosing this for Shadow Shot Sunday, because, well, it’s an easy post and it’s the weekend, y’all.
