I Heart Angels, no, wait, I Heart Angles!

This week’s photo challenge on I heart Faces is Focusing on Angles. At first I thought this read, “Focusing on Angels.” But then I paid attention (something I find hard to do these days) and realized that they want a photo that was taken from as unusual angle.

It’s kind of hard to take a baby’s photo straight on, so I have a lot of pictures of my littlest angel, my grandson, Kole. This photo was captured at an angle while my son, Kyle, was changing his clothes. The expression on his tiny face, as he studies his father, makes me smile. I hope it makes you smile, too.

I Heart Kisses

This week’s photo challenge on I heart Faces is We Heart Kisses. In honor of Valentine’s Day, they want to see some kissing. It can between a newly married couple, between two children or even a pet. The possibilities are endless, but the photo must have a face.

These are three of my favorite faces. My son, Kyle, his wife, Erika, and my tiny new grandson, Kole. Kole is our miracle baby. After three years of trying, and finally getting pregnant, Kyle and Erika were blessed with this little guy, six weeks early, on, appropriately, Thanksgiving Day. He was in the infant neonatal unit for ten days and weighed just under five pounds when he came home.

For someone so small, he has had a mighty effect on all of our hearts.

I Heart This Face Best of All, Y’all

This week’s photo challenge on I Heart Faces is “Best Face Photo.” We are instructed to enter the face photo that we love the best that we took either in the month of December 2009 or in early January 2010. This is not the week to look through the archives for a favorite photo! They want something that is fresh and new and that shows off where we are in our photography journey right now.

Well, since my grandson, Kole, was born on Thanksgiving Day, I have not taken photos of any other faces but his! It was impossible to choose  one favorite, out of the 500 or more I have already taken, but this is one of the top ten. I’m sure y’all can see why I love taking his photo so much. Isn’t he just the cutest thing?

Six Words About My Adorable Grandson

There’s a new forum I’m posting in called Six Words Saturday. You post something about yourself or your life, or whatever is on your mind using only six words. Not only is this an interesting little concept, but it works out well for me, because I only have time to type about six words.

*Edited to cross out vampire words.

Woo-Hoo! I’m Babysitting Him Again Tonight!

The last time I participated in this forum, we had just had a baby shower. Well, here is the result we were waiting for! May I introduce my grandson, “Kole!”?

Now go post something in only six words! You know you want to, and you know you can find time!

Freya. I think she looks good in sepia, don’t you think so too?

I’ve just discovered that Mary the Teach has another photo blog, besides Ruby Tuesday. It is called Sepia Scenes. Every Wednesday, she posts a picture in sepia, and invites everyone else to do the same. She also has a tutorial on her blog on how to produce good photos in sepia. I you are into photography, like I am, go on over and check it out.

For Wordless Wednesday – Another Baby Picture, sorry!

SSPX6677

This photo is for Wordless Wednesday, normally hosted by Dixie over at French Lique, Texas. But Dixie is real busy tendin’ to her okra (how southern, is that, y’all?), so her blog is being hosted for a while by Heather at Simply Joyful Photos. The theme for this week is “Blogger’s Choice”.

A Thousand Words Thursday # 7

img_0018

Yesterday’s  theme, for Wordless Wednesday, French Lique Version, was “Mothers”. Yesterday I posted an old photo of my mom and myself. When I was 2 months old, to be exact, getting a bath. It was real vintage, y’all, considerin’ that it was taken way back in 1958!

Today, I am posting a photo of another baby. Doesn’t it look like the same baby? Well, it’s not. This photo was taken 20 years later. It is me, again, this time holding my firstborn son, Kyle. I think the family resemblance is clear.

I’m all into babies these days, because I’m about to become a grandma. My first grandchild, my middle son’s, is due any day now and I just found out four days ago that my oldest son, Kyle (pictured above) is going to give me another one in January.

So in honor of that, I figured I’d  embarrass thrill Kyle by posting a baby photo of him. You know how grown sons love stuff like that, right y’all? Anyway, this photo takes me back in time, and makes me remember what it was like to hold my first child. And that has to be worth a thousand words.

atwtWhich just happens to be the rules of another photography meme called A Thousand Words Thursday. It is hosted by Jen, at Cheaper that Therapy. I think she’s on to something, myself. The idea behind this one is to post a picture that is worth a thousand words.Be sure and click on the link above, and add your photo to the list. Then have fun visiting all the other blogs and viewing what they think is worth a thousand words!
