Our Rottweiler Love

This is our beautiful Hannah, who was a victim of hip dysplasia her entire life. On August 22nd of this year, we had the most difficult decision to make – to end her life. No longer able to walk,  no longer able to get to her water or food, we carried her into our vet’s office, laid her down on the floor and held her, until she drew her last trusting breath.

A proud, fierce (only in how much she loved), and loyal animal, she was part of our family and part of our hearts. She will be forever loved, forever remembered and forever missed.

This photo is for The Weekend in Black and White.

Six Words About A Baby Shower

There’s a new forum I’m posting in called Six Words Saturday. You post something about yourself or your life, or whatever is on your mind using only six words. Not only is this an interesting little concept, but it works out well for me, because I only have time to type about six words.

*Edited to cross out vampire words.

At Last: Dreams Do Come True!

Last Saturday, these two had a momentous event; A Baby Shower. After years of waiting, wishing and dreaming, their dream of having a child is finally coming true.

They got married in October, 2005. My birthday is in November. So from the first birthday after their wedding, my wish whenever I blew out my candles was for them to have a baby. I knew this was the most important thing in the world to Erika. She had always wanted to be a mommy. And I have wanted to be a grand mother to her child, ever since I met this beautiful angel of a girl.

And now my wish and her dream – is about to come true.

I Heart Faces

I Heart Faces is a photography sharing forum that focuses on the art of capturing faces and their various emotions. Each week, people from across the world enter their favorite face photos into two different categories ~ kids and adults. A judge picks a winning photo from each category that is displayed on the I Heart Faces page.

Click on any of the buttons to check out lots of other faces, or to enter a photo of your own.

I decided to try this, in hopes of making my photo editing skills a little better. Plus, I have so many cute faces to share with y’all. My first entries are here!

This is my beautiful step daughter, being a goof at the beach.

And this is my brother, Earl, with my mom.

Bathing Beauties in the Fifties

There’s this thing I found, called Wordless Wednesday (WW, for short), y’all. The rules are real simple, if you want to play. Just post a picture, on Wednesday! Only thing is, it’s gotten so gosh dern popular – it’s every day now. So I’ve decided to hop on the “Thursday Edition”  bus.

Of course, bein’ southern and all sort of precludes me from bein’ completely wordless. Just thought y’all’d like to know that this here picture is of my mom, on the far left, with her cousins and sister, taken sometime around 1950, in Myrtle Beach, SC.
