You Capture Halloween

I’ve been trying to participate in a photo forum on Thursdays. Brought to us by Beth, at I Should Be Folding Laundry (me too, by the way), it’s called You Capture. Every week there is a new theme. This week it was a two-fer. “Halloween” was the first one.

We went to visit my middle son and his family on our last seven-day break. To my delight, my grand-daughter, Freya, already had her Halloween costume. So even though it was a week early, we got to see her dressed up in her finery.

Doesn’t she make an adorable “Pumpkin Fairy” ? What’s even cuter is, when she first got the costume on, she ran to a full length mirror that they have hanging on a door to check herself out. And she said, “Oooo, Pretty!”

Her parents were going to a Misfits concert that night. They decided to get dressed up for the occasion. So I was able to get an interesting  family portrait for Halloween!

Back home, my little grandson, Kole, was playing the part of a dragon for his first Halloween, y’all.

His parents took him to the mall, to mingle with lots of other dressed up kids. I love this shot of him and my oldest son.

He reminds me of Nim, the sea creature in the TV show “Surface.” (Which was filmed here in Wilmington, by the way.)

Kole’s parents got into the Halloween spirit, too. They dressed up as a couple of sorcerers for a party that they attended. In case y’all can’t tell, these two are a great couple.

(Excuse me while I take a moment of silence to be thankful for my two gorgeous grandchildren and their wonderful parents, who take such good care of both of them and shower them both with so much love.)

Speaking of silence, the second You Capture theme this week is “Silence.”

Is there anything more quiet than a leaf covered street on a Tuesday afternoon?

Head on over to Beth’s to see more Autumn photos, or to participate with some of your own. Next week’s challenge is Serene. Now that should be challenging .
